Handmade polymer clay products
Hi there,
My name is Simona and I am a Romanian polymer clay artist who lives in the beautiful city of Cluj-Napoca, right in the heart of Transylvania.
I remember drawing characters from my favorite cartoons as a kid. Like just about any child, it was a way for me to create my own world. A perfect w orld that I could live inside for a while. The idea is almost the same. Now I’m hoping to create a world that others can live in for a while as well.
As I got older I forgot about my world full of dolls, I went to the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, from where I ended up with a degree in Journalism.
But I never really stopped dreaming of having my own store with lots and lots of dolls.
After another 10 years of wandering through different jobs, I started to think seriously about my childhood dream. I discovered polymer clay by mistake and I started playing with what forms and colors my hands could create. Slowly, the creations looked better and better and I found higher and higher joy in doing this.
I took this path in November 2015, but even if it was a hard decision, I am so glad I made it and gave a chance to my creativity and inner child.
All these 3 years of modelling in polymer clay taught me some discipline and also taught me that there are plenty of talented artists out there, and that the ones who make a living are the ones who want it the most, the ones who are consistent. I increased my efforts and made some lifestyle changes that allowed me to put even more time into my creations.
My path to get here has been delightful and entertaining. I'm creating little dolls for a living which I called them Dollme. I guess dreams do come true after all.
